The European Sunlight Association registered in Belgium at the address Boulevard Saint-Michel 65, bte. 6, 1040 Brussels (“ESA”), places great importance on the protection of your personal data. ESA is committed to complying with all applicable data protection legislation to make sure we process your personal data responsibly.

The following Privacy Notice will provide you with information about the personal data that is collected and how it is processed and used. Please note that by visiting ESA’s website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Notice. Legal justification for ESA processing your personal data is your expressed consent and/or agreement with ESA.

This Privacy Notice applies to personal data that is collected when visiting ESA’s website or making use of ESA’s products or services. Please note that if you make use of services provided by third parties, only the Privacy Notice of these third parties shall apply to the personal data collected via these services.

2. Information we may collect

We collect some of your personal data, i.e. data which allow us to identify you as an individual. In the framework of our operations, ESA collects and processes the following types of personal data:

Name;
Email address;
Date of birth;Information on event attendance, including event photographs;
Job applicants’ documents.

3. How we use the information we collect

ESA uses your personal data only:

To inform you about ESA’s products and services or third party products and services that ESA believes you might be interested in (e.g. sending of newsletters or marketing communication) provided – where necessary – you would have consented to receiving such communication;
To organize events and manage membership;
To manage ESA’s website content;
To handle job applicant documentation.
ESA does not share your personal data with strategic partners or third parties. Further, your personal data will not be transferred to a recipient outside of the European Union. However, we may share your personal data or information we hold of you with certain external service providers who perform limited services on ESA’s behalf and with selected business partners, if necessary, only to be able to provide you with our products and services.

We will not retain your personal data for a period exceeding what is necessary to fulfil the purposes set out above. In any case, the retention period shall not exceed five (5) years from the date of your personal data collection by ESA.

To request for incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete personal data that ESA holds of you to be corrected.

To request the restriction of the processing of your personal data in specific cases.
To lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority should you have any concerns with the way ESA processes your personal data.
There will be no automated processing of your personal data.

6. Applicable law and Jurisdiction

All disputes regarding the interpretation or the enforcement of this Privacy Notice shall exclusively be governed by Belgian law and submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Brussels.
